New House 2011

The pictures are kind of sorted around wrong, but I will explain them! Ok, so we moved last month and LOVE our new home. We are renting in a great new area with tons of kids for both Matt and Lily to meet and play (or "hang out") with. Lily has twin 4 year old girls 2 houses down that she loves to play with and she is outside all of the time. Matt is meeting new people, but still has yet to "hang out" with them. We are working on this. This picture is of our living room.

Here is our kitchen. Notice that in all of these photos, Lily is posing. By the way, she dressed herself....blue shorts, Dora pink sandals, striped socks. Luckily she let me do her hair!

Family room. We love the double sided fireplace!
Dining room. Again, we love the bay window. This house is so bright and airy! We open windows and it is wonderful!
The front of our home. I didn't get any pics of the basement yet. It's unfinished, except for Jason's drum room, or man cave! But Lily has a large play area, Matt has a video game area (we hung a swing up down there for Lily too), and we have a LARGE food storage area! We love it!
A co-worker of mine GAVE us this swing set! Her grandkids are older now and she wanted to get rid of it for more room in her yard. So, my parents took it apart, brought it over, and put it back up while we were at work. Oh yeah, it was also snowing the day they did that! My parents are great! Lily is on this swingset constantly.
Easter morning.
Indoor Easter egg hunt.
Matt is super excited about finding eggs! Just kidding. He is such a good sport to help us let Lily have fun! He plays with her all of the time.
Lily's room.
Handsome Matt! Ready for church.
Playing and wrestling.
Matt is in karate. He was showing us some moves when Lily wanted to join in. Here they are punching and yelling "Hi-ya."
Matt is doing so well in karate. I think he can test soon for his next belt. He's a white belt right now (beginner), and he only started about 2 months ago, but he loves it.
My mom is pushing Lily and her cousin, Tayson, on the swing set. Lily just kept laying on poor Tayson and he was so squished. But he just kept taking it. Tough kid. Mom thought it was hilarious!
Again, Lily dressing herself. Actually, just accessorizing this time. She has Matt's baseball helmet on backwards. Funny kid.
Need I say it? I got her all ready for bed, but she had to add her touches.
We went to the zoo. The monkeys and dragons (tigers) were her favorites.
We got Lily ready for bed, but then went out for a family treat of ice cream. On the way home, this is what happened during her chocolate ice cream cone. I'm not quite sure she got any in her mouth. It's all over her face, her shirt, her doll (and doll's hair), the car seat and the car door and window. Oh well, she had fun and I just tossed her in the tub again while Jason cleaned the car. I also gave "Dora, the dolly" a little bath and shampoo.
Too cute. Matt's baseball helmet again. On backwards. She is a funny one!

New pics March 2011

Lily is very much into dolly's lately. This doll was mine when I was a little girl, but it's one of her favorites. I caught this moment because it was so sweet. She was kissing the doll's head and rubbing her cheek.
Here she is just being adorable.
I've been trying different hair styles with her, and it's been quite fun!
Daddy is really into swords lately. He has a practice sword, and Lily has one of Matt's play swords. She is constantly picking up her sword and dragging daddy's to him to "fight."

We are still potty training. Every morning she sits on the potty and sometimes it is successful and sometimes not. It can take a good 20 minutes of sitting there! Her favorite past time is reading the Readers Digest.

Matt has been trying out Karate. He loves it. He's also very good at it. He was able to do it for 1 month, but we had to stop for baseball. After baseball is over (around June), he wants to start Karate up again. I think it's great for him.

I played with braids on her hair. I don't know how to french braid, but these little braids were fun. After we were done braiding, I let her get a treat. From the look on her face though, it looks as if she was stealing from the cookie jar!

More hair styles. We have so much fun! Jason and Matt keep saying that she is my living, breathing barbie doll and I just love to do her hair and dress her up. They are right! Thankfully, Lily likes it too, most of the time.

Potty Training

So, we are slowly trying to potty train Lily. It's kinda difficult with our opposite schedules and busy lives, but anything helps. Every morning, when she gets out of bed, Jason takes her to the bathroom to sit on her little princess potty. She just sits there reading her favorite magazine, Readers Digest, (I don't know if it's because it's more her size or what), but she never actually potties. She knows what she is doing though. So this morning, Jason emailed me here at work and told me the following:

Lily put Dora, her new dolly, on the toilet to do some potty training. It was very cute as she was trying to get her doll to read a magazine while sitting on the potty.
She was using the same verbiage that Jason uses with her when we're doing potty training in the mornings. She was reassuring her to try and go potty and was giving her different magazines to look at while sitting on the potty. She then started taking all kinds of stuff out of the bathroom drawers to give to Dora to keep her occupied until she "pottied." After about ten minutes, Jason shut it down because he didn't expect Dora to do anything.

I'll be posting more pics soon.

December 2010

This was a big month! Lily's bday at the end of November, Jason's bday beginning of December, Brianna, Jason's daughter in California, her bday right before Christmas, Christmas, Matt's bday right after Christmas....when does it all end???? We had a lot of fun though. Here are our stockings.
Here is Lily using these Christmas stockings as "real" stockings.
My brother, Josh, and his adorable son, Tayson.
A very nasty pic of me on Christmas. I'm totally going on a diet! Plus, my camera broke on Christmas morning, so I don't have very many pics this year of Christmas:(
Lily on Christmas. She loved it this year and learned all about opening gifts from her big bro!
Matt opening Nannie's gift to him. A University of Utah hat and a beach towel.
The kids LOVE Nannie! Who wouldn't? She is playing with Lily with her feet and cuddling with Matt at the same time!
Again, loving Nannie.
Jason's Christmas, with Lily helping.
Matt and his cousin, Preston, at Matt's bday party. They went paintballing.
This is a favorite pic of mine of Matt. Here we are at Salt Lake City Temple Square enjoying the lights with my parents, Nannie and Bompie. Nannie is in the background and Matt was helping Bompie keep warm. I love this pic.
Ok, so I know I shouldn't post half naked baby pics on here, but it was so cute! Lily was getting herself dressed for bed and decided to have an impromptu tea party for one on her bed. It was still pretty early, so I let her play while I grabbed the camera. We also just cut her bangs for the first time. Very happy and cute!
Lily is not yet potty trained (she is only 25 months), but we are working on it. She LOVES the underwear though! Here she has put on all 10 pairs OVER her pants and diaper. She came downstairs looking like this, so of course, I grabbed the camera again. (by the way, my camera broke on Christmas, as I said, but it just so happened that my mom got a new camera for Christmas and so she gave me her old one. Thanks mom!)
Here is a scooter that Lily got. She is learning to ride it and loves it.
Last Friday, Lily had to have some surgery at Primary Children's Hospital. She had tubes put in her ears and her adnoids taken out. Here she is in recovery, still quite a bit loopy. She is doing very well now. It's been 3 days and she's doing great!
Here she is in the wagon after they gave her the first loopy meds. It's supposed to make them tired and loopy. It totally worked on her. I haven't seen her this calm since she was about 5 weeks old!
Before the meds, we are getting her in her cute hospital pajamas. She was a really good sport.

That's about all from us for now. I figure all of these pics will give you something to do for a while! Hope you all have a great new year!
