Lily's Summer Fun

So Matt was off playing with friends and my brother Josh came over with his little boy, Tayson. Tay and Lily are exactly 2 months apart (Lily being the older one). They live in Idaho, so it's fun having them stop by to play. Here, they are sharing the car (they actually share really well).
Here is Lily splashing in the pool.

First Family Reunion

We had our first family reunion of the summer. We have two for my dad's side of the family. This one is called the JTO (Johnson, Thorvaldson and O'Brian) families. Tons of cousins and family that we don't know and some we never met before. A handful were of my dad's sisters and brothers and their kids. We had a great time though! Here is Lily and Sasha (my first cousins daughter who is 1 year and 2 weeks older than Lily. We get tons of hand me downs from her and we LOVE them!).
It was super hot, so here is Matt dunking his head in the creek.
Nannie (my mom) and Lily playing. We were up there Saturday and Sunday, but we went home for the night. I think we ended up changing Lily's clothes about 4 different times, between the dirt, water and melted chocolate. Boy, did she have fun!
Here she is getting ready to get into the creek. She loves the water and just sat right down on the slippery rocks on the bottom of the freezing creek. She held her breath and than laughed. It was fun. Lily and I also sat on the side of the creek and watched Matt wade in the water and dunk his head. Jason had to work and finish up on some homework, so he couldn't make it with us.
Sasha with a very chocolatey face. Gotta love the melting doughnuts! She is adorable.
My dad (Bompie) and my cousin Scott chatting.

I found this Barbie Jeep (it runs and everything, just push the pedal and it shoots forwards or backwards!) at a yard sale for $20.00. She doesn't like the pedal too much yet, but she LOVES the phone!
Her new bikini. She is running towards me, giggling her head off.
Love the stance. So cute.

We went to the Living Planet Aquarium for Family Home Evening last Monday. We had a great time! Here is the Sting Ray pond. You can put your hand in and "pet" the stingrays if you want. Lily thought this was amazing. Matt enjoyed it too.
Lily checking out the stingray pond. Check her out on her tippy toes.
Matt being the best big brother there is. He is so flippin' cute with her!
There was this large plastic frog the kids could climb on to get pictures. Lily was getting a little bit tired I think. I just had to take a picture of that!
Doing her favorite thing as of late....JUMPING!

Oma (Jason's mom) sent Lily some summer dresses. I LOVE this one on Lily! She looks like a flower girl angel! Thanks Oma!!

More Pics

I LOVE this picture. It's right after they both woke up and Lily just
couldn't wait to cuddle with her big brother. So stinkin' cute!!

Lily is super happy on this Taylorsville Dayz ride!!
Don't worry, I took her off right after this picture!

Brothers Preston and Jake (our cousins) at their sister, Addie's, baptism.

Being way cute cuddling and playing together.

Matt enjoying his strawberries

Just being cute, dressed for the 4th of July.

Matt enjoying ice cream

Lily enjoying her ice cream

Running around like wild animals in her diaper outside
(was also in the sprinklers, so she is all wet)

Chillin in her new (DI find) car. She puts her feet up, so someone else can push her around. Hard life!

All dressed up (in another DI find) for cousin Addie's baptism.

Cousin Addie at her baptism.
She is absolutely beautiful!

Lily hangin' at the doctors office during her 18 month check-up. She was very happy, and into everything. She even figured out how to open the child lock and get into the trash can. Yippee.

Fun and free stuff to do

Hi. I was looking around on the internet for some fun stuff to do this weekend cause I have 5 days off of work. I found some stuff that you may not know about (in the Salt Lake Valley).

Friday, July 9th: Days of 47 Family Fun FREE day at This is the Place Heritage Park from 10:00-5:00 (I called them to verify this because I saw it on some websites, but not on This is the Place website. They did confirm it and also told me that EVERY Wednesday is Wild West Wednesday and the entrance fee is only $2 per person. You can do all sorts of games and fun on these days too). http://www.thisistheplace.org/

Every Tuesday in the summer from 10:00-close at Boondocks (both Draper and Kaysville) is $12 all day. Unlimited use of Mini Golf, Laser tag, kiddie cove and video arcades.
Add $5 for unlimited use of go karts and bumper boats.
Add $3 for bowling, including shoe rental (Kaysville only)
http://www.boondocksfuncenter.com/

And, of course, our favorite, Classic Fun Center in Sandy, Utah:
1 time $10 fee and each thing is only $1 after that OR
$7.50 for an all day pass for many of the attractions (water slides, bounce house, skating w/skate rental, tokens for arcade and jungle gym).

I just thought you all might like to know about these deals!

New Day

Hello all. We've had a fun 4th of July weekend, and it's still going! Let's see...Friday we tried out a new (different) pizza place in Draper called Incredible Pizza. It was super fun. They have a buffet of salads, pastas, pizza, etc. and a huge arcade. They also have 4 dining rooms, the drive in, the Gym, the Family Room and the 60's cafe. You can choose whichever one to eat in. They also have a spot specifically for little ones, rides and a jungle gym. And, they have laser tag, large bumper cars, bowling, go carts and glow in the dark mini golf. You can buy a fun pass with your meal and they put your money/tickets on a card that you can use the next time you come back if you don't use all of your money and tickets during your current visit.

It was a little pricey for the fun, but the buffet price wasn't bad at all. We had a blast. Everyone was happy and full (not an easy task for a 12 year old boy and a 1 year old girl AND parents!).

Matt went with his dad for the weekend after this outing, so it was mainly Lily and me for the weekend. Jason works Friday and Saturday late evenings, so Lily and I kept it low key. We played outside a lot with our new outside DI finds (a slide, a play lawn mower, bubbles, small swimming pool and a swing from Nannie). And of course, the best of all...SPRINKLERS! She LOVES the water!!

We made it to church on Sunday, which is always the goal and we achieve that goal most of the time. Lily is doing so well in Nursery. So cute! And then I did an awesome BBQ of garlic steaks, baked potatoes and fresh peas. I have to say, I was super impressed with my BBQing skills!! The steaks were so YUMMY.

Today, we all have the day off, so we are going to see Eclipse: Twilight Saga. Lily is going to her favorite babysitter, Kamie, and then after the movie, the whole family is going to my moms for a BBQ. Fun times.

Well, time to head out for some family fun! I'll post later, hopefully with some pictures! Kirst
