Matt, Lily and I went to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden, Utah. We had fun. Well, Lily and I had fun. It was a little young for Matt. But he sure was a good sport. I made it up to him with ice cream afterwards. Anyway, here they are in the Oval Office.

Pictures of the kiddos
Lily found this hat in her closet. A teacher at my school made it and a matching sweater for her when she was an infant. She wanted to wear it all day long. So, of course I let her!
This is a shirt Nannie bought for Lily, but the shirt was too small, and the skirt fit just right. So, I wanted to make a shirt to match the skirt, but I've never done anything like this before.
I was super proud of myself! This is the new shirt I designed with tiny little bedazzle beads and an iron. I just looked at the old shirt and put these on in a crown design! Yippee!
Lily enjoying watermelon
Wearing the tutu that Nannie made and the curly bow mom learned how to make!
Lily trying out her 4th of July outfits and curly bows! With her favorite blankie!!
Daddy and Lily drumming. She wacked him a couple of times!
Matt and Lily cuddling on the chair while Matt checks out moms work computer. I love these moments!
Lily sporting her new bandanna. She doesn't keep it on very long!

Anniversary Update
Ok, so every plan I had for yesterday fell through! But it's ok. We still had a good time. Matt actually went to the lake with his dad, Jeff, for the day. So, we didn't want to go to the Pirate Island place without him. We will try that out another day. And, since he didn't get home till later, we missed the comedian too. Good thing we've already seen him twice!
So, you ask, what DID we do? Jason and I dropped Lily off to Nannie (aka my mom) and we went and ran some errands, ate dinner and looked at minivans. We are going to have to get a new used vehicle soon and I wanted to see what we fit in. Looking for used, cheap cars is not easy when your husband is 6'8"! Some cars don't have enough leg room, some seats don't lower so his head can't get in, and some, if he slides the front seat back all of the way, there's no leg room in the back seat for Matt's legs. Right now, we drive a Saturn Vue and Lily sits in her car seat in the middle of the back seat and constantly kicks Jason and my arms. And, we are pretty cramped. So, we looked at a few mini vans. I fell in love with the Kia Sedona! Who would have thought? They have 3 rows and the 3rd row folds into the floor when we don't need those seats. They also have 2 sliding doors, with windows that roll down. And it has a V6 engine, plus head room, leg room for all, and the 2nd row seats lean back, so I can put the car seat in and if Lily falls asleep, she can lean back a bit instead of sleep with her head lolled forward!
Alright, so that is what we did yesterday. Today, our actual anniversary, we all accidentally slept in and missed church. I didn't set my alarm because Lily always wakes me up around 7 on my days off. Well, not today! So, we slept, and then spent some great family time. For dinner, Jason made some chow mein stir fry and I made some shrimp, chicken, steak, pineapple teriyaki kabobs. Yummy!! I also made a sugar free apple crisp. Anyway, we are going to spend some family time now. Lily is asleep, so most of the family is going to spend time together. Happy 3rd Anniversary honey!! I love you!

Anniversary weekend
Hello again. I know I just started this blog last night, but we have a fun weekend planned! It's mine and Jason's 3rd anniversary on Sunday! We talked about going away somewhere, but decided to save some mula and just go out for an evening. He normally has Mondays off, so that is when our date is. I planned this one, and it's a surprise for him, but it will be fun (I hope).
But, we are going to make a whole weekend of it with the kids. Today, we are going to go to the Taylorsville Dayzz (our local city fair) and they have a comedian tonight, Jason Hewlett. We LOVE him. We've seen him twice before and just laughed and laughed. Matt especially likes him. That's tonight, and it's free! Yippee! And then they are doing fireworks. We will see if we stick around for that, or we may come home and put Lily to bed and enjoy them from our front yard (the park is 1 block over, lucky us).
We also learned about this place called Pirate Island in Orem. It's a family restaurant, but it sounds way cool. Something to entertain both a 12 year old and a 1 year old (not many places out there can do that!). Their website is www.pirateislandusa.com. You should check it out. We are going to try that out for lunch.
I'm going to get some pics downloaded hopefully later today. My mom, Nannie, has learned how to make very cute tutu's for Lily and I learned how to make curly bow's for her hair. I have her dressed up this morning in a tutu, tshirt, curly bow and those new Huggies Movers diapers that look like jeans (I had a big coupon for those). She is so freakin' adorable!
Well, I better put this up and go be a good mom and get my kids some breakfast. I also have to shower if we want to get all the stuff done we have planned! Thanks for reading! Kirsten

Introductions!
Well, hello there! I've been doing an email update of my family for the past 2 years and all of my wonderful blogger friends kept insisting that I start a blog instead. So, here goes!
I'm the mom of 2 wonderful kids. Matt and Lily. Bet you couldn't guess that (see title of the page). Matt is 12 and completely into sports, video games, friends, and now girls! He's allowed to look, but not touch!!! He is only 12, after all. Lily is 18 months and completely into.....hmmm, well, whatever 18 month olds are into. EVERYTHING! She is a bundle of energy and keeps us all running. But we love it. Matt and her are inseparable. They love to play and cuddle and be with each other. It's so very cute!
I'm also married to a wonderful man, Jason. He is currently working for the US Census and going to school full time at University of Phoenix. He is very busy, but still makes time for the fam. Our favorite thing to do is just being together. I love being married to my best friend!
Other than my kids, I'm also the Head Secretary at a middle school and I'm in the Primary Presidency at church. My job (work, not church) is very stressful and can get pretty intense at times, but my family is very understanding and after coming home to them all stressed out, I just need to spend a little time with them and it calms me down. I absolutely LOVE being a mom. I also sale Mary Kay. I love getting together with other successful women and learning how to feel good about ourselves. Then we get to go out and help other women feel good about themselves! It is also a second job that I can work around my schedule and that is really nice. I really enjoy doing this and I've made some pretty good friends. So let me know if you need any product! I'm not a Mary Kay stalker, but I would love to provide MK for you if you want/need it!!
I'm going to try to keep up on this blog, but we will see how it goes. I plan to do updates on us and post lots of pics of the family. Hopefully I can keep it up!
Well, that's all for now. I'm going to find out how to post some pics. And then I have to tell people about this thing, or else no one will see it!
I can't wait to talk to you again!! Kirsten
